1. Who we are

Tbilisi Tbilisidrive operates the website tbilisidrive.com, a car hire comparison and affiliate service covering Tbilisi and the wider Georgia market. We are not a car rental company. We own no vehicles, carry no fleet insurance, and no one on our team hands you the keys at the airport or at a hotel in the Old Town.

Every car shown on this site is supplied by an independent local rental company in Georgia and made bookable through the LocalRent booking platform. By searching, comparing, or requesting a booking through this website, you accept the terms set out on this page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. Your contract is with the local supplier

Once a booking is confirmed, the rental agreement is formed between you, the main driver, together with any additional drivers named on the contract, and the local Georgian supplier shown on your voucher, arranged for you through the LocalRent platform. Tbilisi Tbilisidrive is not a party to that agreement and has no power to change its terms.

The supplier's own rental conditions, read together with the law of Georgia, govern the rental itself: the class and condition of the car, the insurance attached to it, any security deposit, the fuel and mileage policy, and what happens if the car is damaged, stolen, or returned late. Those conditions differ from one supplier to the next, so read the fine print attached to your chosen offer before you confirm.

3. What our service covers, and what it does not

The distinction between our role and the supplier's role matters most when something goes wrong, so we set it out plainly.

4. Using this website

You may use this site to search, compare, and request car hire offers for private or business travel in Georgia. You agree not to scrape it with automated tools, not to interfere with its operation or security, and not to submit false names, dates, or flight details when requesting a booking. We may withdraw access where misuse is detected.

Editorial content on this site, including distances, road names, and border information, is published for planning purposes and can go out of date. Always confirm current conditions with the supplier and follow the road signage and traffic rules in force at the time of your trip.

5. Prices and currency

Rates shown on tbilisidrive.com are drawn from each supplier's live availability at the time you search and can move up or down until a booking is confirmed. Demand around Tbilisi rises sharply in the warmer months, so a rate quoted in summer will rarely match one quoted in winter for the same car class.

Each offer states what its daily rate includes. Optional extras such as a second driver, a child seat, or additional cover are priced separately and shown before you confirm. Running costs you settle locally, including fuel, parking, tolls, and any traffic penalty, sit outside the quoted rate.

6. Booking confirmation and payment

Selecting a car creates a booking request. The booking exists once you receive a voucher naming the supplier, the car class, the pickup point and time, the return details, and the price. Check the voucher the moment it arrives and flag anything wrong straight away, since it is the document the supplier works from at handover.

Tbilisi Tbilisidrive does not collect payment for the rental itself. Any prepayment, reservation fee, or balance due is collected by the supplier or by the LocalRent platform under the payment terms shown on the offer, with the remainder usually settled in person at the car. This website never processes or stores your card details.

7. Changes, cancellation and no-shows

Cancellation rights belong to the specific offer you choose. The deadline and any fee for cancelling or amending a booking appear on the offer page and again on your voucher. Requests to change a pickup date, time, or location should go through the contact channel printed on the voucher, and any change depends on what the supplier still has available.

If you do not appear at the agreed place and time without contacting the supplier, the booking can be treated as a no-show and any prepayment kept under that supplier's terms. A delayed flight is not the same as a no-show. Give your flight number when you book so the supplier can track your real arrival time.

8. Driver requirements and documents

Every driver needs a valid driving licence held for the minimum period stated on the offer, along with a passport or national identity card. Minimum age and any young-driver surcharge are set by the individual supplier and shown next to the car.

Georgia lets visitors drive on a valid foreign licence for the length of a short stay, but a licence that is not printed in Georgian, English, or another familiar Latin-script language should travel with an International Driving Permit (IDP) or a certified translation, since a police officer or a rental desk cannot verify what they cannot read. In practice, many Georgian suppliers ask every foreign visitor for an IDP regardless of the strict legal minimum, simply to avoid disputes at the counter, so carrying one is sensible even where the law alone would not require it.

Anyone who intends to drive must be named on the rental contract before taking the wheel, since an unnamed driver is not covered by the supplier's insurance. Georgia drives on the right. If the documents you present at handover fall short of the supplier's requirements, the supplier may refuse to release the car, and any refund in that situation follows the supplier's own terms rather than ours.

9. Insurance and deposits

Insurance cover, the excess that applies to it, and any security deposit are supplier terms, set out on each offer and forming part of your rental contract once you book. Deposit practice varies between Georgian suppliers. Some hold a sum on your card at handover and release it after the return with no damage found, while others offer a reduced or no-deposit option in exchange for a higher daily rate.

Inspect the car together with the supplier at pickup and again at return. Photograph any existing marks, confirm the fuel level noted on the contract, and make sure anything you find is written down before you drive away. Disputes about damage, fuel, tolls, or fines are a matter between you and the supplier. We cannot decide them for either side, though we will pass on contact details and follow up in good faith if you ask us to.

10. Cross-border travel and territory restrictions

This is one of the most misunderstood points in Georgian car hire, so we state it clearly. Georgia borders Armenia, Azerbaijan, and, further north, Russia, and it sits within easy reach of Turkey through the Sarpi crossing near Batumi. A great many local suppliers restrict or forbid taking their vehicles across any of these borders unless you have obtained the supplier's written permission in advance, and some suppliers refuse cross-border travel outright, regardless of notice.

The restriction exists for practical reasons rather than as a formality. A Georgian-registered car's insurance typically does not extend automatically once the vehicle leaves Georgian territory, and taking it across a land border can require export paperwork that only the supplier, as the registered owner, is able to arrange. Crossing into Armenia, Azerbaijan, or Turkey without that paperwork and without written consent can void your insurance entirely, expose you to the full cost of any accident or seizure, and in some cases lead the supplier to keep your full deposit or bill you separately for the cost of recovering the car.

If your trip includes a border crossing of any kind, even a short day trip, contact the supplier before you book and get their permission in writing. Do not rely on a verbal assurance from a booking agent, and do not assume that a car hired for general Georgian travel automatically covers a trip abroad. Some suppliers charge an additional cross-border fee or ask for a larger deposit once permission is granted.

11. Our liability

We are responsible for running this comparison service with reasonable care and for presenting supplier offers as they are given to us. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of rental suppliers or of the LocalRent platform, for a car being unavailable at handover, for mechanical failure, for accidents, fines, or border issues during your rental, or for indirect losses such as a missed onward flight or a cancelled tour.

The website is provided as it stands. We do not promise that it will run free of interruption or error, and we may change or remove pages without notice. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

12. Affiliate disclosure

Tbilisi Tbilisidrive earns a commission from the LocalRent platform or from the supplier when a rental is completed through this site. That commission comes out of the supplier's own margin and adds nothing to the price you are quoted. Booking through tbilisidrive.com costs the same as booking the identical car directly with the supplier.

13. Intellectual property

The text, layouts, imagery, and other material published on tbilisidrive.com belong to Tbilisi Tbilisidrive or to its licensors. You are welcome to read these pages, print them for your own trip, and link to them. Republishing, bulk copying, or reusing this content elsewhere requires our written permission. Supplier names, vehicle manufacturer names, and their logos remain the property of their owners and appear here only to identify the cars on offer.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as our service, our supplier arrangements, or the applicable law changes. The version published on this page at the moment you make a booking is the version that governs that booking. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
